Become the hero of your own story.

So, how does this work?

01 — What should you expect?

I conduct sessions online via video conferencing (Zoom) or if needed, by phone. Clients have found it easier to attend sessions without the extra travel time, weekly time off work, and/or away from your family.

In our first few sessions, we discuss your history and goals. I encourage clients to feel free to tell me what does and doesn’t work, and what is important for them. As you become more comfortable, the sessions develop a life of their own, and conversation moves more easily. If you don’t come in each week knowing what to discuss, know that’s something everyone goes through

02 — Who and what do I treat in therapy?

My clients are individuals, adults, older teens, and couples/partnerships. Some of the issues we address are social anxiety, depression, neurodivergence (ADHD, ASD), personality disorders, mood disorders, self-esteem, PTSD, transgenerational trauma, relationship and communication skills, work and life stressors, grief/loss, divorce, caregiver stress, addiction/harm reduction/recovery, and ongoing health issues (chronic pain, cancer, auto-immune, “invisible” disabilities).

I have a good deal of experience working with clients who identify as LGBTIQ+, Kink/BDSM community, non-binary, transitioning, and ethical non-monogamists.

As a therapist, I work to understand the experiences and mechanisms blocking a client, so that they can develop skills authentic to their context and self. Together, we can examine tools with which you can continue to build after our work together is complete.

03 — How long does therapy take?

It depends on the person and their situation. Generally, we meet once per week for 50-55 minutes. Some people need time to trust the process and the therapist, others can dive in quickly and make faster progress. A commonly cheeky answer is, “How long did it take for you to build who you are now?” The honest answer is that it depends on your needs, your goals, and your participation. If you’re concerned about it, bring it up in session or in your consult appointment so that we can make your use of this time a priority.

To be transparent, I will never suggest that you stay in therapy any longer than is useful for you. You have my promise that if I feel you are not properly progressing, or that you might need different methods to see benefit, I will speak up. The reason I stay up-to-date with research, interventions, and best practices is to ensure that your investment of time and resources is well spent.

04 — How much does it cost?

My private pay fee is $185. I am periodically able to offer a sliding scale based on need, so please feel free to ask.

Individuals (adults/teens): 55 minute session.

Couples/partnerships: 90 minute session.

Professional consulting: $250/hr.

I accept insurance directly via Alma for the following: Aetna, Optum, UHC, Anthem

In my solo practice, I provide monthly documentation and superbills that clients can submit to their insurance companies for timely reimbursement. Credit and debit cards are accepted (no Amex or Discover, pls). I am currently in-network with Optum, Blue Shield/Anthem, Aetna.

I am working on being an in-network provider with the major insurance companies so my clients are reimbursed at in-network rates. I am working on getting credentialled with MediCal, and streamlining my billing system so that I can directly bill your insurance. and clients will only pay co-pays and/or deductables.

Do not be satisfied with the stories that come before you. Unfold your own myth.
